Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant with approximately 5 years of accounting experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and assisting with month-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Monitor and improve accounting processes for efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate (a plus)
- Public accounting experience (preferred but not required)
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
